Every vintage has a story behind it

Bordeaux 2010 was exceptional; 2013 was lost to rain. Burgundy rescued its 2021 with a dry autumn. VINBLIK maps those stories — a quality score for each region and year, the actual growing-season weather behind it, and a live read on the vintage unfolding right now.

Growing-season weather Spring rain, flowering-period rainfall, summer heat accumulation and heat-spike days — the real factors that determine vintage character, from ERA5 historical reanalysis data.
Current season, live The current vintage updates as the growing season progresses, so you can see how it compares to past years before the wine is even made.
Phase-by-phase breakdown Select any vintage to see the growing season split into four phases — spring, flowering, summer, harvest — with rainfall, temperature and heat-day figures for each.

Which regions have vintage scores?

We cover the world's major wine regions — Bordeaux, Burgundy, Barossa, Napa, Rioja, Champagne and more. Coverage grows as we add to the data set.

Where does the weather data come from?

Growing-season weather is sourced from Open-Meteo's ERA5 historical reanalysis (CC BY 4.0), which covers the globe at daily resolution from 1940 to today. Current-year figures update as the season progresses.

Are the vintage scores editorial or algorithmic?

The scores are editorial — set by our team based on established critical consensus for completed vintages. They are not generated by an algorithm.
